Sree Sankaracharya computer centre, which started its functioning in a modest way in 1995, has now become the biggest computer centre in India. Nearly 6000 students from various parts of India attend classes at Sree Sankaracharya Computer Centre located at Kannur. The institute has a total built-in area of about 30000sqft. Sree Sankaracharya employs nearly 400 staff including teaching, managerial and such other employees. A team of highly qualified, competent and experienced faculty of about 250 people constitute the core segment of these employees.Sree Sankaracharya could develop unique, innovative courses and programmes which are considerably different from the traditional curriculum. The disciplines of Foreign Accounting, Practical Engineering, Store Keeping, etc. are courses with a new vision and they are 100% job-oriented.

Sree Sankaracharya offers a unique learning experience to the students as each of them gets individual attention in the class room, as the effective teacher-student ratio is 1:12. At Sree Sankaracharya, students learn various programmes, with the state-of-the-art ‘virtual class rooms’ employing Artificial Finance Management Systems (AFMS).

Sree Sankaracharya has full-fledged, completely networked computer lab with more than 700 latest systems making use of Macintosh and such other advanced operating systems and platforms. The close-circuit television camera installed at the office enables speedy and efficient management of classes and labs. The Wi-Fi campus of Sree Sankaracharya has uninterrupted power supply generated by the diesel generators in the campus. Besides, the centre has its own Sound Recording Digital Studio with facilities for Dubbing, Editing and Production. This studio caters to the needs of students who attend multimedia courses.The mini conference hall within the campus with a seating capacity of 250 has modern acoustic system besides Audio-Visual support systems. This conference hall is used for Parent-Teacher Association meetings and for interviews as part of campus recruitment by several companies. Facilities are also available for light refreshments and students can make use of Tea and Coffee vending machines installed in the premises. Also, the ‘Students Store’ functioning within the Main Administrative Block provides the essential stationery and other materials to the students.Separate Hostel facilities are available for boys and girls and the inmates have access to the Multi-gym and other recreational activities including T.V. with cable connectivity at their hostels. Vehicles ply between the hostel and the campus for picking and dropping the inmates. The teachers and other faculty members at Sree Sankaracharya undergo periodical Refresher Courses and Enrichment Programmes to keep them selves abreast of others in the arena. A team of specialist cousellors provide timely counselling to the students, while the Nursing Care Centre within the campus provides instant medical care to the sick. The day-to-day administration of the centre is in tune with modern management concepts and the use of world wide Digital Video Surveillance System (DVRS) facilities efficient and fast office management and quick decision-making and implementation. Apart form this, constat communication with the Heads of various Departments is made possible through tele and video conferencing. In recognition to its sophisticated office management systems, Sree Sankaracharya has been awarded ISO 9001-2000 by GLC, Germany. More than 1200 renowned companies and organisations both Private & Public Ltd. are regular recruiters from Sree Sankaracharya’s Campus. Of these nearly 200 companies are major players in their fields nationally and regionally.
